Sport Activities
Thanks to its special natural environment, encompassed within the Las Ubiñas - La Mesa Natural Park, Quirós is the ideal place to practice all sports in direct contact with nature: mountaineering, climbing, cross-country skiing, caving, paragliding, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, hunting or simply hiking through one of its varied and striking routes
Hiking
It has numerous signposted routes, such as:
Small tour:
Llanuces – Hermitage of San Xuan (SQ-1)
Vega de Arrojo – Corroriu Mills (SQ-2)
Cortes – Gold Well (SQ-3)
Grand Tour:
Senda del Oso (From Santo Adriano, following the route of the old mining railway, to Teverga and Quirós. Perfectly signposted and with hardly any unevenness)

Camino de las Relicas or Camino Real del Puerto Ventana

They find their perfect setting in the Ubiña Massif, the Sierra del Aramo or the Sierra de Sobia. In the small village of El Llano is the Climbing School, with numerous routes of varying difficulty, and in Toriezo a new area has been equipped taking advantage of the buttresses of Pico El Gorrión.

The Bike
They find their perfect setting in the Ubiña Massif, the Sierra del Aramo or the Sierra de Sobia. In the small village of El Llano is the Climbing School, with numerous routes of varying difficulty, and in Toriezo a new area has been equipped taking advantage of the buttresses of Pico El Gorrión. Mountain can be practiced following the many royal roads that connect the towns of Quirós, without forgetting the Senda del Oso, which is a route suitable for cycling of more than 30 km.
Ski Touring
The interval in which the best conditions are usually given for the practice of this sport modality is between the months of January and April. There are many itineraries that can be done, such as the ascent to the Güertu'l Diablu Peaks, the Fariñentu Peak or Peña Rueda.
Water Sports
They have the three trout rivers in the council: the Quirós (or Trubia), the Lindes, and the Ricao, as well as the Valdemurio reservoir, which has a jetty and is the headquarters of the Fishing and Canoeing School
The Hunt
It also has great fans in the council as it is part of the Somiedo National Hunting Reserve and the Quirós Regional Hunting Reserve, where all the species of Asturian fauna coexist.
The Paraglider
It has its most famous jumps (approved by the Federation on a European scale) on the road that leads to the Gamoniteiro summit, thanks to which there is an impressive jump of close to 1,500 m. unevenness
The Descent of Canyons
Its main area of activity is in the impressive Las Xanas gorge, although there are also several other smaller gorges in the Quirós council.
For Speleologists
Quirós has numerous caves and chasms in the Sierra del Aramo, the Sobia and the Ubiña Massif, among which we will highlight:
• Cueva de Covachos (with about 5 km of galleries).
• La Canal Cave.
• Pozu El Trave-Rolamuela System (620 m deep).
• Water Cave.
• El Melluque Cave.
• Pozu La Carba.
Besides
